The sidewalk to nowhere is, quite frankly, an abused conceit. I present instead the sidewalk that doesn’t….end, so much as it dives under the grass, leaving a set of confusing streaks in its wake. Action lines tell the story; this confusingly placed concrete slab is, by one interpretation, trying to escape the Aldi parking lot.
But before it goes, it wants to make a special connection. And I applaud the effort. It’s just one sidewalk, trying to tell another sidewalk that it really wants to link up, except that it can’t because of the grade, and that utility box, and the tree and, well, fate.
